How to Make Fenugreek Tea

Thought of as one of the healthiest seeds in the world, it is used for its many health benefits including heart health, increasing breast milk production, increasing testosterone levels and aiding with blood sugar levels. Fenugreek tea is also used to help relieve congestion.  Containing a natural expectorant, it can assist with sinus inflammation and lung congestion.

 

Ingredients

1 tsp organic fenugreek seeds per cup
Boiling filtered water
Honey to taste

Optional
Fresh lemon slices, tea or spices

 

Method

Crush the fenugreek seeds in a mortar and pestle or with the flat blade of a knife. Place the fenugreek seeds and into your teapot, add lemon, tea or spices and pour in the boiling water. Allow to steep for up to 15 minutes then using a tea strainer pour into your cup. As fenugreek has a bitter taste, sweeten with honey if desired.

For a more potent brew soak the seeds in cold water overnight.

 

Note:

If you haven't added lemon, tea or herbs you can add the soaked seeds to to your curry or salad.
